We returned to the cabin in July for another visit. Mel was only able to stay for a few days, but I spent over 10 days there by myself. I caught up on a lot of projects I wanted to complete, including putting a final finish on the kitchen cabinets and resealing the front porch. We also purchased a log bed from a local Amish craftsman and put it up in our loft bedroom. It really looks great there.

Back to the cabin
My son Brian and his wife Carrie and my grandson Noah spent last week at the cabin with me. It was their first visit to the cabin and the first time I have been back since Mel and I left for Annapolis the end of December. The cabin was in great shape with no problems. Brian brought his tractor down and we completed quite a few projects that I had been wanting to get done. We cut down several dead trees, installed a drainage pipe under the driveway and also cut up and burned a large pile of debris that was left over from the excavation for the cabin. It was really great getting to spend the week with them! I've attached some pics of the work we completed.

New Home

Mel and I are getting pretty settled in our new place in Maryland. I know I really miss the cabin and am looking forward to getting back there soon for a visit. I've purchased a new vehicle here in Maryland, a Honda Civic Si. I've wanted one since they first came out in 2006 and looked at them when we lived in Baton Rouge. I've included a picture of mine.

Moving On
Well the movers where here yesterday and have removed most of our furniture. We will be heading to our new place in Maryland early next week. While we are extremely sad about leaving our cabin, we are looking forward to the day we can come back. We have been extremely blessed and are grateful for being able to keep the cabin.
Mel and I wish all our family and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Fall Is Here
Well, it's been a very eventful summer and I apologize for not posting in such a long time. Things were very hectic with my job and it now looks like we are going to have to relocate in the very near future. Not to worry though, we are not giving up our log cabin. While we will have to move to a new location, we are planning to keep the cabin as our getaway place and our future retirement home. While it makes us sad to have to leave the cabin, we look forward to the day we can return to it again. Hopefully that will be soon.
